Welcome to Kaslo
The village of Kaslo is located in southeastern British Columbia, nestled between the soaring peaks of the Selkirk and Purcell ranges, on the western shore of 100-km-long Kootenay Lake. Kaslo is an hour's drive north of Nelson, less than five hours north of Spokane, and about halfway between Calgary and Vancouver. Founded in 1893, Kaslo is the oldest incorporated community in the Kootenays. The contrast between its heritage Victorian buildings and spectacular lakeside alpine setting is breathtaking. I've lived here almost 20 years and I'm still awe-struck.
Kaslo was honoured by Harrowsmith Country Life magazine (April 2001) as one of Canada's prettiest towns . You won't find a strip mall or fast food franchise here, but you will discover a delightful main street whose many small shops, restaurants, and accommodations offer just about everything you need within a couple of blocks.
The beauty of Kaslo's setting is matched only by the friendliness of its people. It's a varied and colourful community, one that boasts trades people, artists, forestry workers, musicians, farmers, writers, and professionals among its numbers.
The real estate here is just as varied. It includes everything from small affordable houses within walking distance to town, to new condos, to farms and acreages with good soil and sun exposure, to custom-built lakefront estates.
I love it here, and am happy to share my knowledge of the area with you. And certainly if you are looking to buy or to sell a property in or around Kaslo, I can help. |
